A series of images. An interpration of a dance called "Alma"( an apple in the turkish language). My focused experience is of the symbolic bible story of the forbidden apple, with some added connotations... ( photographed in a rehearsal)

To be continued....

Dancers: Shany Katzman, Yoave Grinberg. Choreography: Rachel Erdos

Thanks for your impressions.

Pnina a quite interesting series. I like the idea of the central symbol of the apple with the human sexes revolving around it. Excellent light.

Wow, what a disturbing image! It speaks on many, many levels. It has an unpleasant undertone (something "seedy" going on here) along with an innocence that is about to be shattered. It speaks to greed and simple human needs juxtaposed.

It makes me think of the child with a malicious impulse who is then shattered with grief when seeing the damage that is done, the harm s/he brought about. It's humanity.

This image is terribly disturbing. Well done!

Thanks for exptressing your feeling. you are right about this uncomportable pose and image, but the whole story of the bible (which was not the choreographer's intention), was unfolding with a lot of thinking about the significance and analogy of the story and our real life. so the short series trys to hint of my thoughts. I have more photos of that dance, but I upload those which are expressing my interpretation.

Pnina, you show here how man cannot blame woman, he goes for the apple with mouth open taking as big of a bite as he can. Granted his eyes are closed, but that is his fault!

I'm so glad you shared the difference between the choreographer's intention and yours as being different. I was recognizing your images as being very well done but merely capturing what the writer/choreographer was responsible for designing and creating. Now, I see, it is you taking his work and putting your meaning/interpretation to it, which can legitimately be called your own! I don't know how the choreographer can avoid the connotations which you have so justly captured and portrayed.

I like your series.
