Birte, i have rather poor skills in regard to proper critique...so i won't attempt such. please let me say that although this photograph is so technically sound... it is a sense a "magic" that keeps pulling me in for a longer and closer look. the child's expression alone could be pondered for some time... It may sound a bit odd...but for some reason that I can't explain... i keep gazing at the whiteness of her finger nails, against her beautiful brown skin, and her little foot dangling mid-air. a truly mesmerizing picture!

when i have not been up all night...which is the case at present...i assure yo i will be back to visit for a while! and i would be remiss if i did not mention how much i appreciate your bio. thank you for all your work in regard to our environment...and for sounding the alarm. hopefully those who haven't read the writing on the wall will wake up from their sleep...and those of us who realize the dire strait that we are placing ourselves and our planet in, will awaken from our lethargy and will not only be supportive of people like yourself...but will realize our own personal calling in becoming activists for this cause. best regards, john

This is an impressive image. Beautifully executed in every respect. There is a tribe in Africa, whose women give themselves the appearance of very long necks, by inserting ever more rings with the effect of depressing their color and shoulder bones. I have never heard of this custom in Asia, from whence this beuatiful child seems to come. Please tell us more about this picture....Bert

this series of portrait is simply amazing Birte. It depicts a human condition without being judgemental. The photographic quality of each photo is remarkable, National Geographic worthy. I love the tone of the photos, as well as the soft light. This particular shot is wonderful, it has great balance of tones and colors, it has dynamic, movement, and the child's expression is perfect concentration. Lovely shot and great series. Regards - michel
