Matt Laur 2,201 Posted January 7, 2008 How quaint! A 5-stand competitor pulls a still-smoking black powder hull from his vintage 12-gauge side-by-side. The old style propellant makes the barrel quite hot - hence the hand guard. Thanks. Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted January 8, 2008 I tried to access this shot at school today and was blocked by the districtwide server: "Content: Weapons". So, you're a menace to society, perhaps even dangerous. (How the server could tell all this is a mystery to me, but then you're the computer geek so I guess you'll know.) Oh yeah, and I like this photo. The smoke, the center of interest, is great, and the other colors are very pleasing. Interesting content that tells a little story. Nice. Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted January 8, 2008 Tim: That's me! Matt "Menace 2 Society" Laur. Heh! I'm betting that the magic string of characters was "black powder," which probably disturbed the filter's sensibilities about some 1970's-vintage anarchist cookbook, or worse. Funny! But, thanks for your persistence! Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 26, 2008 Matt, I like this one very much. Your timing and the light with the smoke from the breach make this so interesting...a sportsman's classic! Nicely done, Dick Link to comment
cyanatic 0 Posted August 27, 2010 I find this to be really nice work, capturing both a moment and, dare I say it, a personality. (The fact that I love the smell of black powder may make my enjoyment of this image somewhat biased.) Link to comment
