susan stone 0 Posted January 7, 2008 I think this portrait is a good candidate for a B&W conversion, I think it would be much more dramatic and appealing, or even a sepia tone. It has such nice graphic detail and a conversion might "soften" the skin somewhat. It's a good candid pose. Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted January 7, 2008 I do like the b/w. But those are really cold red cheecks and really blue eyes... I'm leaning towards my heart on this one!!! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted January 7, 2008 The B&W shot, though very good, makes the portrait too glamorous. The ruddy cheeks and cloudy blue eye of the color version convey more emotional depth. The perpetual dilemma: Do I want a pretty picture or a real picture??? Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted January 7, 2008 I'm not much help: both look good! I'm partial to portraits this close and tight. I like them for their intimacy...and yours has the added twist of essentially being in profile, yet still revealing emotion or communication from the eyes. Excellent. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Both have their merits but I'm voting for the "classic" B&W version. Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Well, this is my husband and he does have ruddy skin and beautiful blue eyes....this is him, all bundled up from being out in the cold wind. That's PaPa in our house! Thanks Guys! J Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted January 7, 2008 A portrait full of character and I imagine of a person full of character. Well done and I believe the image will carry the same quality in any medium applied. ~Sky Link to comment

mvisionphotography 1 Posted January 12, 2008 I love both the B&W and the color! You could even go for a darker B&W if you wanted to. SO many things to do with this. You could do so much. Those blue eyes are gorgeous, why haven't we seen more lately? hmmmm Link to comment
janisok 0 Posted January 12, 2008 Thanks Micki! I guess with life's ups and downs...one of the downs has been sitting on top of my head for a while. I have heard that some of people's best work comes from life's experiences(both good and bad).....I guess we will see. j Link to comment

janisok 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Hello MR. Ken! I like it better than the straight b/w. I don't like losing the cap color. Hmmm,I'll ponder on it til you come back through next month!!! Hope you are still having as much fun as when y'all started your long journey. Off to see America. No new shots lately? Sup? Link to comment

margaret1 0 Posted January 21, 2008 He looks as though he belongs on the TV series, "Men in Trees." He is darling. (I am old and married, so I can say that) Great shot, love the ruggedness of the portrait. Link to comment

juan-de-santa-anna 0 Posted February 16, 2008 I too like the original and the classic...both flavors show the your nack for the candid! But of course...don't forget the sepisa version! I think my vote stays with the original color version though....and you know how I feel about B&W...wonderful gotcha! Juan Also the square format is what in my opinion makes this image more personal....JUan Link to comment
