shots worth sharing 1 Posted January 7, 2008 A local garden shop (now alas, defunct) had areas constructed of wood framing, rebar and fiberglass panels with vinyl sheeting added in some sections. It does interesting things with sunlight. Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted January 7, 2008 This is a very attractive shot, great light (of course!) and the composition is very well seen. I like this one a lot! Regards, David. Link to comment
cjtj50 0 Posted January 7, 2008 My favorite out of your new three! Great work here! Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted January 7, 2008 Thanks, CJ! It was one of those "I wonder if I can capture what I'm seeing" sessions so I was pretty thrilled by the results. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted January 14, 2008 The secondary reflections running interference with all the vertical lines is what makes this one for me. Particularly the single horizontal with the 45 degree diagonal above it. I'm sure you had your reasons, but looking at this after the fact, I keep wanting to move the camera to the left a bit to get that last vertical of light inside the frame a bit more. Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted January 14, 2008 You probably give me too much credit but maybe I did have reasons--I'll take a look later. Are you looking for some sort of 'closure' (darkness) on the left? Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted January 15, 2008 Not so much darkness as just continuation of the scene. Not that I would want to see the two sets of re-bars centred in the frame, more that the ones on the left feel perilously close to the edge, if that makes any sense ? Link to comment
shots worth sharing 1 Posted January 15, 2008 Yeah, I think I understand what you're getting at--sort of like they're the outliers in a group and need to be brought more toward the center. Going back to the original, though, it turns out I really did have reasons for this crop: it's pretty seriously tilted and there are other constraining elements. I'm afraid This is about as good as this shot's gonna get. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 12, 2008 It is a very nice imag . The forms and light play intersected by the subtle shadows, the golden sight it radiates, and the hints that there is a " behind" are simply beautiful. very successful. Link to comment
rekaras 0 Posted April 16, 2008 Nice photoplay here in light play David. Well seen, rek. Link to comment
