pargman 0 Posted January 6, 2008 Nice lighting, but the subject looks rather like a doll, with too much mascara and a vacant expression in her eyes. Too bad. Link to comment
edan1 0 Posted January 6, 2008 I'm afraid I agree with Randy's comments. I don't know if it's because people are discovering tutorials on "improving" models using Photoshop or not, but more images just like this are beginning to appear lately it seems. Personally, I feel aggressive retouching along these lines (which I call "mannequinisation")is ruining so many shots. Mind you, it could actually BE a shot of a mannequin... Link to comment
tore 0 Posted January 6, 2008 Thank you all for your comments. Edan, it is a question of personal taste I guess, I like it and think it is fun to shoot and retouch this style and I like pictures looking like this (maybe the eye came on a bit too strong.)We are all different. vicenteconcha 8 Posted January 6, 2008 Excellent portrait, the direct look of the model creates a communication with the photographer, increasing the value of the image. Congratulations. Vicente. Link to comment

young_lee1 0 Posted January 7, 2008 I also second Randy's comments - I *did* wonder whether this was in fact a person or a mannequin....??? I do like the sharp focus & contrast - but her make-up did smudge her "skin" - aside from mascara being too thick. More (skin) texture - especially, in a high-contrast, sharp photo like this - would have made her look so much more alive. Link to comment
anthonyd 0 Posted January 8, 2008 The contrast between the sharpness of the eyes and softness of the skin is extream in this. That's what I like about it! Everything is a bit extream here. The waves in her hair, the twists in the necklaces, the tilt of the heart, the contrast between the black bra and the white top. I wouldn't make it habit of going this far but in this particular case...I love it! Link to comment
gerfoy3 0 Posted January 8, 2008 Think its just the eye that is too sharp that makes that feeling. The skin for me fine, sure others wouldn't agree. The think is, am I'm sure Tore gets this he is a better and more in demand photographer than me....the girls I shoot ask for perfect skin, they don't want reality they want to know how they would look perfect... Tore? Link to comment
tore 0 Posted January 8, 2008 Ger, you are absolutely right, Girls look in fashion magazine and in these mags everybody looks perfect. In this case the skintreat was not necessary, she is still a teenager and has perfect skin, but I did the standard retouch anyway because it improves light and colours as well as the skin. (The eye make up is made by me, I tested a new way to increase contrast, perhaps it come out too strong) Cheers Tore Link to comment
