pnital 36 Posted January 5, 2008 A second version of temptation. An interpration of a dance called "Alma"(an apple in turkish language). My focused experience is of the symbolic bible story of the forbidden apple(with some added connotations).... Dancers: Shany Katzman, Yoave Grinberg. Choreography: Rachel Erdos Thanks for your impressions. Link to comment
pduffy1 1 Posted January 5, 2008 My daughter is majoring in Dance and as a result I attend allot of recitals and shoot allot of dance. I know how tricky exposures are in this environment and you have a gem here. Congratulations ! Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted January 5, 2008 Pnina, a very nice dancing series. I like this best because of the color tone you've used. Great sense of movement. Link to comment
laurent-paul 1 Posted January 5, 2008 Pnina, This photo is fantastic. I love the contrast here, but above all, the composition is absolutely perfect. Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted January 6, 2008 Another fantastic capture for wonderful rendering, also the lighting, contrast & tonal range are unique, Pnina!!! Best regards 7/7 Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted January 6, 2008 I love this in B&W, Pnina. The pose of the dancers is magnificent: they look like living statues. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted January 6, 2008 Talk about a literal and metaphorical fall of man. The dancer looks tormented. Another tempting shot. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 6, 2008 Thanks all of you Paul, thanks for your words, as you have tried it, you know it IS a chalenge. Roger, Laurent, Richard and Paula, thanks forthe nice feedback. Jeff ;-)), literaly and not metaphorically! from that first event, the man has the power, money and rule..... Link to comment
jim_hoffman 1 Posted January 6, 2008 Fantastic pose of the person in the front!Very interesting scene again! Cheers,Jim Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted January 6, 2008 Excellent shot. I like the man's dramatic, almost tortured posture against the woman's calm and direct gaze. She seems to take pleasure in looking at her tormented victim. Her expression feels calculating. Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted January 6, 2008 In many ways a great shot, great composition! I still have some suggestions. I see you want to involve the apple on the left in the comp, but I think its stronger with the left part cropped. Bit too much empty space for my taste, and I miss balance. Second I would have preferred the focus on the girls face, because she draws the attention. cheers and I wish you an inspiring year. Link to comment
laurent-paul 1 Posted January 7, 2008 Just a personal thought, but i don't agree with any change in the crop : the apple pn the left, the apple on the woman's head and the man's foot on the right are compositing a perfect equilateral triangle AND at the same time the apple on the left coupled with both of the man's hands are forming a perfect diagonale of the whole picture. As it is, it is a master piece of composition. Any other crop would just kill the whole dynamic,I think. Removing the apple on the left would also remove some meaning Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 7, 2008 His arch vs her erect posture, his strong emotion vs her calm, his 'struggle' vs her light smile are what captures me. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 7, 2008 Thanks all of you for your interesting feedback. I appreciate it very much. Hans, thanks a lot for expressing your point of view, I'm always ready to listen to what you are thinking and have to say, and please do it whenever you feel like commenting on my work ( and to all my other commentors as well) but I do think (in this image) that cropping that L side will ruin the composition as I saw it. Laurent evaluation( thanks Laurent) is the way I saw it myself, so I don't see a point of explaining my reasons again. I see it as a ballanced composition and the apple is important in my eyes.... Thanks again all of you. Link to comment
