Oh my! Such emotion this photo you have taken has, brings tears to my eyes. So sad for all especially the families of those who parished in this unnecessary disaster. I see reflections too...thank you for sharing! Take care

I am too far away now to visit this site. I have only been there one time. Thank you for keeping the memory of those we lost fresh.

for your comments.

I'm glad that I was able to "bring you there" and want you to know that I was as hopeful looking at this construction as I was sad remembering the destruction.

The Memorial will help ensure that we never forget.

Stunning detail for a handheld capture.

I admire your ability to hold a camera so steady ,because the subject is so emotionally charged.

Best regards.

Thanks for your comments.

I've been working on holding the camera steady for months now and it's become easier in the last few months. Practice, practice, practice :)

As for the emotion, we had walked around three sides of this area before I took this shot. The shock and sadness at first viewing the area were a bit worn off. I was truly unprepared at how moved and saddened I was walking down these streets but am glad that I made the visit nonetheless. Now I feel some closure.

Have a wonderful day -

Very strong message. I saw the actual happening live on TV, can only say that it is a sad world where we live in. The pic is well done and as somebody already said, well done with the hand held exposure.

Someone on this page asked how I could hold the camera so steady given the emotion of this shot. That truly was the hardest part.

May this never happen again.

May all who were harmed be healed.

May those who passed on be at rest.

May we never forget.

Cheers ~

Very nice shot, perfect time of the day to take shots like that because the sky still has some light left and balances all the other artificial lights, otherwise too strong. I really like the composition here and that metal shield to the right reflecting a nice warm golden light is a very interesting element. Great job.

Very good job holding the camera by hand, I am also a fan of that and consider the tripod good for taking beautiful nature "postcards"... kidding. I think what stands out from this picture is that you were able to get a very interesting original and beautiful shot out of one of the most photographed places.

What wonderful words you wrote. Thank you so much. I'm once again motivated to find the ordinary and somehow make it mine, unique.

Have a great day!

Alberta, I agree with others about your steady hands, sharp eyes and a big heart. A valuable documentary of our times.

After much politicking and delay, the rebuilding of the towers, a memorial and museum (all green with lovely parks surrounding) is back on track. I hope to revisit in the fall.

I hope to be inspired by the progress and dedication to this project rather than simply overwhelmed by the sadness of what had taken place here, as I was on my last visit when I shot this photo.
