mcclure 0 Posted January 3, 2008 color balance is surreal - the sky has a backdrop appearance that takes the beach to an entirely different place. Amazing capture Dimitris! Link to comment
janis lukas 0 Posted January 3, 2008 Very nice and sensetive work!! Xronia Polla!/ Janis Lukas Link to comment
dimitris1 0 Posted January 4, 2008 Very nice picture. A bit oversaturated, I think that if the sea was less saturated it would be a 7. Great shot anyway 6/6. Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted January 4, 2008 Thank you very much for your very nice comments. And this is how the "AS SHOT" looks. Do you think the picture that I posted is over saturated? Link to comment
mcclure 0 Posted January 5, 2008 In my opinion, No - the saturation and color balance make the shot. If you wanted to achieve this in a print - Ciba or Dye Transfer would be my choice. Great image Dimitris. Link to comment
photis santamouris 23 Posted January 5, 2008 The original lacks contrast and colour and shoudn't have been posted for comparison because what we need here, is a well worked image ,and not a straight out-of-the-camera capture.Best regards. Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted January 5, 2008 In a way you are wright. But remember, the before and after saga.... Link to comment
panayotis_papadopoulos 0 Posted January 6, 2008 I think too that the color manipulation, as far as the rock is concerned, is very good. It brings out some highlighted areas on the rock and the ground, like being spotlighted in a way. But I would not over saturated (at least to that point), the surface of the sea and the horizon. Especially the sea looks a bit "fake" now to my eyes and does not justify the beauty of the rock. Of course, and as always, this is my humble opinion. Take care my friend! Panayotis Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted January 6, 2008 Pamayioti, thank you very much for your very constructive comment, however the sea that looks unreal, as you said, adds to the a rather surreal appearance of the image. The sea in the original was rather dark and I lightened it by increasing the contrast through dodging ang burning. Since I used a fill in flash the lighting would have been rather unbalanced. Too light in the foreground and too dark in the background. Best regards and thanks again. Link to comment

mindstormphotos 0 Posted January 7, 2008 not too much blach-blach - is a statue made by nature (or you ? )- an excellent image !! Link to comment
c-ellos 9 Posted January 8, 2008 Excellent presentation of nature's sculpture ! Like a human looking away, thinking of past events, burned by the sun. Or just a form, as it is ! I LOVE IT !!!!!!!1 Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 8, 2008 The saturation works here to give a stiking eye boggling effect, complimented by the warm light. Link to comment
