Guest Guest Posted January 1, 2008 I love the use of color - the same two bands of color in the background mirror in the bird's plumage, the subtle rainbows in the glass. The red is arresting and offsets the otherwise narrow range of color in the picture, but I think it might be slightly too arresting, as it detracts from the bird, who for me is the highlight of the photo. Two other things detract slightly from the bird, to my eye, those being the slight tilt of the stem of the glass and (maybe this is just the compression for the web) the point of focus seems just shy of the bird's face and upper plumage - if it was somewhat sharper, it would make the bird pop a lot more. Tighter framing might also help, but I like how the loose framing makes it feel more natural, more like the bird might fly away at any moment. Link to comment
marisafpr 0 Posted January 1, 2008 Sooo funny! This one is so sharp and has a very sweet pose. How in the world do you get them to pose on those objects? It seems it would topple that goblet with its weight unless of course you fastened it to the table. Anyway, very nice, and have a very happy new year too! Link to comment
