I never had children...but the feeling I get when I see my pup sleeping like Dozer here...I think I know what it means to....possibly my favorite of the year...Thanks for posting this one...Juan

Thanks Juan, I am flattered! Really! We met Dozer this weekend at our Family Christmas get together, he was also a guest....my brother's family is dog sitting. He made quiet an impression on us. Lab and Pointer mix, very smart pup!

Thanks again for the very nice comment. Happy New Year to ya!

Absolutely love dogs...in fact, we just adopted a second one on Halloween and can't imagine our home without her! :) This bed and her position makes me think of a babe in a womb...of course a dog's uterus is wayyyy different looking! Anyway, Dozer looks to be safe and snug in this bed, much like a baby is safe and cushioned inside its mama. Just an impression. :)

This is a picture of blind faith and feeling safe - and it's wonderfull. Am I the only one coming to think of an egg? (-;

Happy New Year to you, Jannis.

I am so glad that y'all like the shot, the first thing that came to mind was a Heart...and I went and cut the bottom of the heart off! Thanks so much to all of you for stopping by to see dozer......asleep.

Lovely photo of your lab. The heart shape while sleeping peacefully makes it for me. Looks a lot like our yellow lab pup too. Always entertaining the positions he falls asleep in...

Thanks guys! Again, he was a really cool dog to be around. Made me want to come home and get one for the inside. He had little booties that they put on him to keep from scratching the floor.....CUTE! My outside lab would really not sit well with it though!

Thanks,

J

I love images such as these we have cats that curl up in the ferret beds and dogs that curl up in the cat beds sooo this is too cute in my eye!!! delightful

I saw the heart too Janis, so appropriate as dogs are so close to the hearts of those that love them. He looks so safe and content in his cocoon. A female dogs uterus is shaped like a two sided horn and as she whelps a pup will come from one side than the other....maybe a little more info than you wanted huh?!

No, not more than I wanted to know...just something that has never ever entered my mind! But so interesting, kinda like "double barrelled!

Thanks! Now go back and name that baby. Oh, looking on your portfolio, I saw another baby photo and it was burned or rotted...gross. Maybe that will jog your memory and help with a title. Kinda miss Dozer!

Thanks

J

The baby doll is the same in both photos, and they both make me a little uncomfortable but fascinated at the same time. The title will come to me eventually and always subject to change. I love it when dogs are sleeping and they start to dream and twitch and yip, I so wonder what's going through their minds.

Happy New Year, Janis. Very embryonic. It would be nice if everyone was afforded the peace throughout our lives that Dozer obviously enjoyed. I think I will build myself a new bed this year based on your inspiration. This looks too comfortable. You're off to a good start in 2008. Nice photos already this year. Keep up the good work. ~Sky

Janis.....everyone has just about said it all, but I want to add my kudos on this remarkable shot! Such a cozy, peaceful feeling I get when viewing it!

What a perfect fit the bed is!

It might be because my wife is due to give birth next month, but this image has strong connotations of a baby in the womb. If that was the intention, then it might have worked better had the bed been rotated by 45 degrees or a little more.

The light colours of the dog and the bed contrast well with the black background, drawing the gaze to the middle of the image.

Thanks John, and congratulations on the soon to be new addition. I was actually seeing a heart and confess that I cut the tip of the heart off!

Thanks again!
