Interesting composition Dan, very unusual rocks formation which the light is enhancing its shadows and texture, a bit smooth and other parts rough and striated. I like your title a lot because it connects me to the small lonely tree that despite the rough surrounding found some place to deploy its roots, and evokes a connotation of personification of human situation....Thanks for your bio as well.

Andrew, Pnina and Maxime, thank you for you kind words. Andrew, I think it is the texture that makes it work. Pnina, the photo was just one part of a huge wall of rock. I like the texture on the rocks. I like the separation of the 3 sections in the rock formation.
