thadley 14 Posted December 27, 2007 Very well done. Congrats. In my own photography, I am always a bit nervous about 'empty spaces' in an image. I see a potential crop here - what do you think? Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted December 27, 2007 Hope you don't mind but this would be my crop - perhaps you like yours as is. Link to comment
davidorea 0 Posted December 27, 2007 Thanks Tony and Michael for your comments. Tony, about crops here are 2 options. Link to comment
davidorea 0 Posted December 27, 2007 I think the dark space is necessary in this kind of scenes, but my previous one had a very big space. Now the space is smaller. Thanks, Tony. Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted December 27, 2007 Fantastic capture, impressive execution for wonderful rendition, David , I like first & last, another great stage shot! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2OO8, MY FRIEND! Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted December 27, 2007 But, it's not the space, but the expression on the tragic figure's face that captivates. Best of the season to you, David. Link to comment
morgana 0 Posted December 28, 2007 Hola David, feliz ao nuevo. Siempre tan sorprendente con tu experimentación visual, un abrazo amigo... Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted December 28, 2007 The sad and yet dignified expression of the tragic figure accentuated by the hand gesture and the colours, especially the red around his head make this theatrical picture an indelible memory. I see the point about the empty space, but in my opinion I think the crop is fine. Very artistic. Well done David Link to comment
Happy New Year! Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted December 28, 2007 A very fine dramatic image! I think you've used the negative space well. Regards... Link to comment
gatzelis 0 Posted December 28, 2007 Art. The tragic face, the expression is great. The texture and the light are stunning. David Regards. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted December 28, 2007 David, I prefer your Crop-3 version. The presently uploaded version calls the violet item to our attention and it does not seem to play a central role (you could clone it away). However the main figure is masterly captured and interrogates the viewer. One option in such situations is that the viewer makes his/hers own story, but I would appreciate is you could give some clues on the context. Link to comment
stamos 0 Posted December 28, 2007 Powerful photo! The light, the symmetry of shadows, the blur of movement, the expression of face and body, all are excellent. The inverse active space horizontal composition underlines the tragic act. Happy New Year 2008! Link to comment
alberto_quintal 1 Posted December 28, 2007 Estupenda, muy buena David, me gusta mucho. Saludos y un super 2008! Alberto. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted December 29, 2007 Intriguing dramatic shot, bringing the viewer right onto the stage. Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted December 29, 2007 I like your crop - the figure occupies about two thirds of the image. Very well done. I am always a bit hesitant to crop or offer suggestions but that is what this site is all about I suppose. Link to comment
janusz taras 0 Posted December 29, 2007 Excellent dramatic light and composition David. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 29, 2007 David, your last crop is my favorite. The blue ellement is distracting. your crop gives the full stage to the actor. nice image! Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted December 29, 2007 I agree with Pnina. That little purple item is a bit distracting. The texture and expression you've captured is really exceptional. Link to comment
andrzejp 6 Posted December 29, 2007 David, It is a great capture. I like the original crop, but without the object... See attached. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted December 29, 2007 Very intriguing and mysterious expression. Is the person looking at something covered by the hand? is it just an expressive posture? The texture is interesting and compelling to look at. Fantastic job as usual maestro. Link to comment
