Technically, I can say very little... it is very good. Would I change anything? Perhaps. Maybe I would bring a bit more detail in her left shoulder, but that could be because I am viewing the image on a monitor and maybe the original has detail there and the delicate tones just did not reproduce well. So, I still hold, technically, I believe it to be very good.

Aesthetically, I cannot say enough. Her eyes are captivating, and work on many different levels. I comment only after viewing the rest of the photographer's work (to make sure I will not comment on one lucky shot, but rather, on the body of the work, and yours is exceedingly good. It is a very beautiful image of a very beautiful subject. Thank you.

Thank you Francisco. This is they type of critique I am always looking for. Perhaps I should give such critiques myself. Your comment forced me to re-examine the image and I have to agree with you that the detail is lost in her left shoulder. I do not think I have mastered the conversion to black and white that so many people on this site do with ease. I guess I was concentrating on her face when when the doing the conversion. The attached images show the original colour version and the straight conversion to B&W. I feel the straight conversion lacks contrast (please correct me if I am wrong) but I you will see that the detail in her shoulder is there.

As for the model herself. She does have a unique look. I will send her this link in the hope that she will be encouraged to let me photograph her again. I did a rare outdoor shoot with her yesterday. I will post some of those images soon.

Thanks again!

The lack of detail on her left shoulder is a minor issue, imho, of course that I am not very good with photographic techniques, not enough as to achieve the quality of this shot. For me photography is more related with emotions and feelings.

I mean, sometimes a technically perfect photograph taken with a superlative equipment can't move me just a single hair. And sometimes a picture full of imperfections taken with a humble PS can move me the soil, the walls, and my whole world (and the opposite). That's for me the sense of photography.

In this case I must say that the composition is delicate and aesthetic, with a special care on her body language -sensual, strong, flexible, feminine- lightened and framed with mastery. But my concern is aimed to her gaze.

Her gaze is a clear demonstration of her captivating personality, of course, but I imagine her eyes looking to her left shoulder, or the floor, even closed, like adding a kind of mystery to her indubitable and exotic beauty. Would it be a different shot? Could it change the mood? Perhaps. Who knows. Anyway, this photo transmit feelings, it's telling me things just as it is. But I like fly sometimes.

Ups!! Don't take care on my words David, at last nobody have got success following my advices. Just a digression.

Carlos, I care very much for what you have to say. The fact that you think the image is worth commenting on is kindness enough. The length to which you go to show the kindness is very much appreciated. I took quite a lot of photographs of this girl that day. This was one of my personal favourites. There was no thought process put into the shot as such. It just happened. For what it is worth I do like this shot myself. I don't always like the shots I post. Sometimes I post images I don't like to gauge the reaction of others.

Ramble on Carlos and to hell with the consequences.

Thanks again Jim. I wasn't so sure you could see the detail in this small upload but it is definitely there in the print. Negative space is good. That is something we both agree on.
