maentz 0 Posted January 16, 2008 I have been staring at this photo trying to figure it out. How was it that you illuminated the fish? It's a very cool image, but I just can't figure out how it was done (I'm quite confused), it almost looks like light painting. You have some great underwater images in your portfolio, really very good and original (I hope to reach your level someday). Actually, I think I have seen your website before linked from the Gallery2 website? Anyway, this image is very eye-catching for me, but makes my head spin wondering about how the image was taken. kristyc 0 Posted January 18, 2008 Carlo, this is a wonderful depiction of a juvenile Pinnate Batfish (Platax pinnatus). It is very simplistic and modern approach on what nature has so beautifully created. Very chic! The black background is a perfect compliment to illuminate the juvenile's naturally occurring bright orange silhouette. It's ashame that they grow out of this phase as they mature. Congrats on a job well done! Kristy :) Link to comment
