Thanks guys, and yes, I love the lens too. I'd say it's about as sharp and crisp as the 70-200... actually not quite as good as the 300 2.8 or the 500 4.0. But the difference is so small, and the maneuverability is fantastic. I have many shots from this trip that were only possible due to the lens.

Thanks all, and no dice on the harrier... it was about 200 yards away when finally the harrier forced the kite to drop the varmint. We saw it plummet, but that was it, behind a hill.

Were you shooting on a tripod? If I had seen this through my view finder I would have been so excited that I would have started to shake...probably would have started to jump up and down...miss the shot...and feed that Harrier sooner than it was fed....A very crisp clear image of Life and Death...Excellent. Juan
