pnital 36 Posted December 22, 2007 When a dance performance is not all abstract of rhythm and movement, and letting me as a viewer to find the connection in its inner content, as touching life, or is enables me to interpret it as such, than my emotional link to it is what helps me to create and connect, this scene does it, Thanks for your thoughts,. bosshogg 4 Posted December 22, 2007 In my eye, I see nothing to do with dance, and were it not for the stage lighting would not even associate it with staged drama. I see a young man and the larger shadow of an older woman, who almost appears naked (oh yes, sometimes my imagination does get the best of me). He appears uncertain and apprehensive. This seems to be a drama of coming of age. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 22, 2007 Thanks for your interpretation. I left the stage light as it was a dance performance, but not only, because figuratively speaking, it is lighting a scene of life's relations ( The woman shadow is his dance partner), that can have as many interpretations ,as the contents the viewer will bering with him, observing this scene. j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted December 22, 2007 Hello Pnina, I like the way you work with light to define the subject, and seek shadow to conceal it. Shalom. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted December 22, 2007 Pnina, this is such a great composition because it is open to so many different interpretations. I guess one of these interpretations could be that of infatuation of a young man who is coming of age. Link to comment

kirk d 0 Posted December 22, 2007 Pnina, this is a great image. It looks like a detached relationship. The man in the front looks indifferent and acting not to care and the shadow of what appears to be a woman looks to be a scorned lover. What is really cool too is the lighting coming at us and the foreground subject but a silhouette existing behind the lights instead of in front of it. I hope you have a good holiday season and it was great meeting you this year. Kirk Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 22, 2007 Spencer, nice interpretaion! Adan, that is really open to interpretations, as much as the imagination enables eash one. Janusaz abd Ruud, thanks you both. Daily, I'm looking for a partner, are you ready ? ..... lol Kirk, I think we wrote simultanously... Good interpretation, and nice observation of the BG. silhouette. Thanks to all of you and,my best wishes to all of you for the holidays. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted December 22, 2007 I'm late, but not for an interpretation, I hope. I see like all two persons. One symbolizing sensuality (long hair, agitated gesture) - a woman; another, a young man, incapable of acting physically (arms near the body; shoulders lifted), fixed on the spot where he stands. The tricky thing about the scene is that the spotlight is on the guy whereas the women which is the acting partner of the couple is in the shadow. No dancing, but this is surely the theatre of a very old story.... Well done Pnina Link to comment

rogerleekam 0 Posted December 23, 2007 Pnina, visually and conceptually stunning. That shadow is extremely mysterious, and his defensive pose heightens the mystery even more. Lovely light! Very best wishes for the season. Link to comment

Karl Schuler 48 Posted December 24, 2007 Like a boy, mit abgeschnittenen Hosen, trying to protect himself from the shadow of the imposing woman behind him, like a standing turtle, resisting from running away... A picture, carved in the brain and evoking old memories, not from the best ones...Happy holidays and best wishes for a bright 2008.Karl Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 24, 2007 Thanks Rakesh and Richard! Karl, interesting interpretation, I think that each of us viewers, coming to a photo, are bringing with us life experience we are caring, as our inner contents. some of them are good memories and some are sad and hard ones. I think that if an image succeeds in provocing feelings, and evoke memories, it served its purpose, as even it is bad memories of the past it gives an index of our possibilities to grow and learn from them. It can be the photographer's aim or not, but the moment a photo is uploaded it has its own life, and speaks to different viewers in different ways. Thanks and Best wishes to all of you.
