Nice except for the car, which I would crop out. I would also straighten the verticals. Dramatic color and line here.

I agree with Les. Unusual shot. The variety of brown tones actually contribute emotionally to the shot. Try blocking out the car with a piece of paper and see if you like the result. The car does give a bit of balance, but without it, the woman appears to be moving faster. Interesting, huh?

Do like your reactions! They do "cut wood!" we would say overhere. Not just Ah and Oh.. Most of the times I will never change a composition, however one sometimes can have (haha.. lovely..)a kind of blindness (!) for an own child! Les.., I think the car a beautiful monster here.. a kind of a contraweight.

No car would be to "harmonious" and to predictable. However, the most important: it is/was the me pleasing REALITY! Next, I don't construct images out of shots. Not being (partialy) satisfied does mean.. delete. Because of that, I even think of posting only full frames in the future.. IMHO to many subjects often are to nicely isolated and the danger of all that isolated and often painted beauty is often missing the touch of real life.. So in practice, already from my beginning two years ago, most of the times I do hardly crop. Five percent of an image is already very much! But I do admit it's a struggle!!! An forinstance not cropped small stone in any corner can get the main subject.. Haha, because friends might think I wasn't aware of. (see the sitting mime-player in the France-folder. Without that stone (!) the scene will lose dept!!) And cloning it out.., that might be the beginning of an not ending story. For me (!) it's falsh. I'm totaly photographing!! Street!! Not afterwards constructing and painting. That's OK if those two absolutely different diciplines are clearly noticed or signed and in our heads for judging separated. For me is the challange of "just good shooting" enormous, fantastic and seen my wishes, very, very hard! I do love that! Shooting without hardly any crop and any (for me.. and shooting = cropping..) disturbing elements. So Les, you will already feel I don't straighten eighther. Only my back. :) The woman's posture was demanding for holding the camera in this way. Intuitivily. Thanks anyway!! Antonio.., this father does admit the child is showing finer, watching your proposal. The overall (color) balance is indeed better! Yes, I tried the same before.. returned to the solid heavyness, but you are RIGHT! However changing it will possibly mean a delete for ever. For it will lose it's place in the folder. OK, haha.. perhaps it depends on my love for it. Bye 5 percent! :) Thanks friends! Olaf

Thanks for your passing by! My phylosophy in practice is very simple: delete delete delete.. as much as you can! Elven weeks France, shooting half the time! 800 shots, left 80. Deleted again 10 out of the folder.. Matter of time and more will go. Yes hard, but lovely! And about that piece of paper. Already very young I did use my hand for that. Seen from my father, the sculpter. It does work fine! :) Olaf

Haha.. I already start hesitating.. Will need some days.. a week.. weeks. You know! Earlier, like in your crop I thought the woman to much on the left. However the bottom-part does improve. The shadow is indeed very strong while after the crop, the important (!) connecting shadow-line partialy beneath the pole will be kept. I will let you know the final decision. Olaf

love this one! And even car fits great in here. Both (this one and crop ) versions are fine (although you know what I think about crops hahahha). First I thought I don't like this street light, but its not central and it divides this photo in two parts, which I like... and the colours are just great

Very big YES!! on this one. I agree with Mr. Bassi's crop suggestion, taking some of the tree. Makes the composition stronger. Excellent shot!

I like this different one, even though it breaks all the rules I know (and then some). Maybe that's why it looks so dynamic. The bold colors go with the energy and rule-breaking perhaps..
