sweeney 0 Posted December 21, 2007 This is blend of multiple exposures made from one RAW file. I try tokeep the HDR look to a minimum. Please share your thoughts. Thanks Link to comment
tracie 0 Posted December 21, 2007 I like it.. I'm wondering how it would look if you tried converting to an infrared look. Link to comment
sweeney 0 Posted December 21, 2007 Sharon, That thought did cross my mind and I think it would look good. I did go for that slightly as you can see by the leaves on the tree to the right. Thanks for the comments. Link to comment
rbanfield 0 Posted December 22, 2007 Hey Mark, I like it. Its well thought out. I think the B/W works on a photograph with this subject matter. You have run the full plate of the tonal ranges. I would try to darken under the trees just a tad. Question? Did Ord become another abandon base? I used to run down to that area in the 60's (Laguna Seca, Santa Cruz, San Gregornio Beach) I don't remember it being this run down. Of course that was 40 plus years ago. Anyhow great shot...RAY Link to comment
sweeney 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Raymond, Thanks for the comments. Yes Ord is not abandoned per se but the military left about fifteen years ago. The land has been mostly divided up between the cities of Marina and Seaside, as well as what is now the Cal State University at Monterey Bay, a small school that makes Berkely and UC Santa Cruz seem like a right wing training ground. Many of the original buildings still stand and just as many have already been demolished to make way for new developement. As they stand with no maintenance you can see what fifteen years has done. There is some great stuff out there, a lot of which I have shot and just not gotten around to processing yet. Link to comment

michaelging 1 Posted May 3, 2008 Nice photos Mark of Fort Ord. I will be taking a trip this summer down highway 1 past Moro Bay , I think I will try stop and check it out. This building, looks just like the one I lived in when I went through Basic Training in the Air Force. I guess that is the standard look to military buildings. Link to comment
