jayme 0 Posted December 16, 2007 A little different for me, trying new stuff. Comments appreciated. Thanks for looking. Link to comment
timberwulf 0 Posted December 16, 2007 The large thread or hair over the child's eye distracts me quite a bit from what is otherwise a good image. I'd also like to see a little more sharpness in the eyes, which from the looks of them would promise to be an excellent feature of this image. Otherwise, I like the texture treatment appearance and the bw tonality. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted December 17, 2007 I wrestled with the little hair & decided to leave it in, he was quite the mess that day :) As for the sharpness in the eyes, for some unknown reason, when I posted this to PN, the eyes & a lot of the graining I added lost some of it's sharpness. I posted this to another site & this strange phenomena did not happen. So.. I can only assume it has something to do with PN's compression software. Weird! Link to comment
skersell33 0 Posted December 17, 2007 I love this image and effect. Eyes look pretty sharp on my end. I agree on the thread. If you don't mind... i've removed thread just to get a look. Regards and nice work. Link to comment

timberwulf 0 Posted December 17, 2007 Excellent Jayme. It really is a neat image, and I know all too well about the debate between keeping things in images versus removing them. ;) Keep shooting, it's a very nice look. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted December 19, 2007 Thanks Sherry, Biliana & Garry. Sherry- I like the way the image looks with the hair removed. I will have to do this prior to printing. It does look better :) Thank you! That hair was actually one of my blond hairs left behind from a hug I had captured! Link to comment
benhuybrechts 0 Posted December 22, 2007 hi Jayme, I like the grainy texture of the picture and the expression. It is very different from your studio portraits I have seen before. The frame adds value to it. Very nice ! Ben Link to comment

lbattjes 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Merry Christmas, Jayme! I was really thrilled to see this...I love your studio shots, but I also love it when people try something new. Especially, when that something new is as effective as this! :) Eli is a doll and you've produced a really interesting and appealing image of him. I vote for the removal of the hair, by the way! :) Leslie Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted December 24, 2007 What an expression on his face! I love this, Jayme! Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones! Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Thanks all, I also like the lack of the hair :) I played with this & removed the ketchup, then hand-painted the image. Just for fun :) The hat is really black & yellow :) Thought red & green was more appropriate for today :)Here's the other version :) One of my sweet little boys :) Merry Christmas to all! Be Safe! dave_dube 10 Posted December 24, 2007 Jayme ~ can't say many of us like stray hairs (unless they are yours or dear little one's).I may only be on Photo.net a couple of more months. I spend most of my time and energy at New SiteI've tied up with Rebecca Parker (no doubts you know who she is) and have been learning a lot from her group and edits. She just recently had articles published in Corel Painter, to name one.Jayme, all the best in the Holiday Season, be safe and keep brushing!Dave Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted December 26, 2007 I viewed you in the rabbit coat circa 1969 :) I'm still giggling. So....since we are displaying our age so well, I thought you'd get a kick out of this one! Circa 1972, me :) LOL This was taken by a photographer friend of mine. I wish I had the whole group he took, they were a scream! One of the original flower children! My husband carried this in his wallet until I finally stole it! What's funny is that my hair right now is actually longer!!!!! As you can see, it was & still is rather unruly :) The ribbon really had a purpose, LOL! Kept my hair from standing up on end! At present I keep in under control with a scrunchy, tied on top of my head. As my husband says, "Kind of like Pebbles" :) It has become a really quick way to tell if I'm dressed up or not. If I have a ribbon around the ponytail, I'm dressed up, if not, I'm just lounging around! LOL :) By the way, I feel sure I had the mate to that coat :) Link to comment

dave_dube 10 Posted December 28, 2007 Stunning photo Jayme! The comment before your post states "Also, I am a little surprised at how well manicured your mustache and beard was for that time. My perception is perhaps more of the 70's where people I thought tended to just let things grow uncontrollably...grin." Media hype! Folks don't realise there were 'Hippies' and 'Flower Children'. I really look stoned in that photo, you on the other hand...If you ever find that furry photo (check your husbands wallet again), make sure you drop me a line.I'm still struggling with Painter, I just haven't committed myself to it I guess.HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR! jayme 0 Posted December 29, 2007 I don't actually remember a lot about his shoot, but I do know that I was a pretty happy go lucky teen :) (Actual very little has changed!) I look pretty serious in this, (not my norm) I was probably just a little tiny bit stoned :) Unfortunately or fortunately, I did inhale :) It looks like I was trying to make my eyes focus :) LOL They look a little crossed :) If I find that furry picture I'll let you know! :) Yea, some of us did take a bath & smelled pretty good! Not all of us were long, haired smelly types :) LOL However, I did know a few of them :) Here's a picture at the scene of the crime :) Same photographer :) I could have sworn it was a double breasted jacket, guess not:( But it was double knit! Check out that tie! LOL Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted December 31, 2007 Who was the flower child and who was the preppie? Oh, wait ... never mind. :-) I love this treatment and the sweet face. I prefer the original post to the hand painted image ... although I know that if I had only seen the hand painted one, that would be my preference. What gorgeous cheeks! :-) Link to comment
