It would have been an excellent shot without the burned sky. Maybe a light filter - a polarizer - should do the job the next time.

as i was driving through the bleary Iowa winter countryside yesterday, I thought- how would you ever get a good shot of this gray-brown land? I don't know where you shot this but it is similar to our vast farmland. And this is an absolutely gorgeous scene! The composition is filled with energy- from the blast of sun, to the placement of the two trees and the hint of blue in the sky. Great!
