kirk d 0 Posted December 15, 2007 This is a view of the same street, a block down from where I photographed and posted Once They Stood. The pink geometric figures are modular homes covered with pink canvas. They were purchased by Brad Pitt and will be erected and given to the low income residents that lived in the houses that Once Stood in that neighborhood. Thanks for looking, Kirk Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted December 16, 2007 Super duper cool. The selective coloring makes this a stand out photo. It's good to hear celebrity can bring good to the world, not just notoriety. Link to comment

paula grenside 0 Posted December 20, 2007 I thought at first it was manipulated. The pink color is the color! Way cool. also gray days will appear luminous. Link to comment
kirk d 0 Posted December 20, 2007 Thanks for the comments everyone. Oh yes Paula, the pink color is the color, I only boosted the saturation slightly. When you see it in person - all these pink/fuscia blocks amidst the barren but overgrown landscape, they are this vivid! Kirk Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 20, 2007 I had to scroll past that new years greeting before I lapsed into a seizure. Now that I am safely down here and my eye are recovering... Wow!! that's a lot of pink. Luminous has been mentioned and that is the first thing to hit me. That sky has a freakish glow to it which is rivalled only by the glow of that pinkness. The composition is strong, the feel is wonderfully surreal and the purpose and result of the unfolding event is highly commendable. I love how that electric pole is framed by the tree limbs. bertr 0 Posted December 22, 2007 This, to say the very least, is a most interesting shot. Have a very merry Christmas, Kirk, and a healthy 2008....Bert Link to comment
