"Jenn - My Beautiful Daughter..."

I finally found a model for my studio. Well at least for one shot.

.... a beautiful daughter and model. Nicely exposed and lit, with a just right catch-light in the eye. My only level of concern has to do with the composition.

I noticed when teaching photography that it was useful to have people look at photos while I watched their eyes. A successful composition I regarded as one in which their eyes moved over the surface a number of times. An unsuccessful one was one in which the observer moved once across the image and quickly out and to the next picture. Consider that the model's eyes are so close to the right margin and looking out that there is a danger of the viewer looking to the eyes and following their gaze out of the picture in one motion. What is there that is so compelling that the viewer would fight the strong gaze and move backward to see more?

If I were to photograph her in this pose, I would leave a much larger space for her gaze to traverse, even at the expense of cropping the back of her head.
