Very good. A simple monchromatic palette, I like the balance between the exquisite details in the top 1/3, and the broad strokes of light and dark in the lower 2/3.

 

May I suggest a simple black frame to define the edges?

Josh, this is a fantastic photo. As the previous poster mentioned, the best part of this is the composition using the basic shapes at the bottom and the details at the top.

I second (or third?) the above comments. Excellent B&W image and the composition is its strongest element. Very nice work.

Really, really nice composition! I can't work out if the 'cleavage' (ahem) in the bottom is clever feature or a distraction (square crop works nice too)... either way the whole works really well ..

I agree a a square crop on the bottom would also make a very nice shot

Hmm . . . I assumed Tim meant to keep the top and crop out the bottom. I prefer the original here. But, if you wanted a square crop, I like the top.

A very nice winter scene, Josh.The B/W is especially a nice choice here. I think as well that it needs a kind of a frame as the lower part connects to the page( nearly...)and needs a border.I like as well the square crop of yours Ian.

Thanks a lot everyone. The photo definitly improves with a black border. I'll try and work with some of the square formats. although, i think i like the lower square frame better.
