stefanoanghileri 0 Posted December 11, 2007 I like much the foreground of this photo, Erik. Maybe the subject is very common, but you captured it in an interesting way and in a dynamic moment. The eyes, the sight of the animal is just fantastic, it transmits joy. It is the main focus of the image and I would do something to highlight it, maybe trying to brighten in post production. The background, instead, is a bit disturbing IMHO. The foreground has all a warm, flat tone and so the contrasts are dampened. I like how the blue ball fills the space and balances the composition, but maybe it contrasts too much and it tends to absorbe all the attention so that your dog has less. Also those orange sticks (are they legs from a chair?) have a too saturated colour and, if they could be helpful lines to drive the attention on your dog, they contrast too much and so the eye stops there.
