jim kerr 0 Posted December 9, 2007 Exceptional find Mike, the kind of scene I was always on the prowl for. Printed with excellent fine detail, and nicely creative contrast......Jim Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,917 Posted December 9, 2007 Thanks Jim, this is only a few miles from the Indiana/Illinois line. Typical of the midwest isn't it? Places where working farms used to be. Actually I took this last winter during a storm. The owner lives about 1/2 mile away & he saw my car & came down to see if I needed any help. That's when I asked if I could go on the property. evb 0 Posted December 11, 2007 Mike, this is a beauty. I love the dreamlike quality that the soft snow givs this, and yet the tones in the barn siding are crisp and rich. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,917 Posted December 11, 2007 Thanks Edward. You probably have all the snow you need already in NH? Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted December 11, 2007 Wonderful, expressive black and white. Very evocative. It shouts it's silence with dignity and emotion. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,917 Posted December 11, 2007 You should be a writer. Some of the comments you leave are eloquent. If I could turn thought into words like you, I wouldn't need to take pictures. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted December 12, 2007 Thanks for the compliment. I still quote you when I want to express my motives and hopes in making images. "To someday make an image that matters." So who is the wordsmith? Link to comment
dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted December 14, 2007 I like the way the sky and the snow blend together and provide a seamless white backdrop for the buildings. Nice shot. Link to comment
janiebarber 0 Posted December 14, 2007 What a great find and shot!!! I can almost feel the texture of the wood and the cold of the snow. Two bad here in east Texas hardly ever get much of that. Sam and I did get in some snow on out last road trip close to the panhandle, Lamesa, Colorado City, etc. and I had so much fun traipsing around in the snow taking photographs. Anyway, wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and successful New Year. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,917 Posted December 15, 2007 Nice to hear from you again. I've driven by this place in all seasons, just got lucky with the snow. If I don't talk to you again, you & Sam have yourselves a merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. I'll check out your West Texas pics too. Link to comment
Mike Marcotte 49,917 Posted December 15, 2007 Yes, it was seemless that day. First time in years we had a blizzard to ride around in. Thanks for the look. Link to comment
