dave_holland 0 Posted April 28, 2002 You've caught a memorable expression, and for a candid shap this is good. I find the background a little distracting, and you could neutralize some of that by cropping the sides. Also, note the fuzzy shoulder to camera right. Do you have a problem with your scanner, or is this just movement blur? A catch-light in the eyes might have helped somewhat. I like how you had the camera at his eye level. Link to comment
lnin0_greene 0 Posted April 28, 2002 I agree that cropping much of the sides would help. Is this retouched? The focus around your subject seems very soft. If not I did not realize the CP 990 could achieve this DOF. Link to comment
ken_imduaikiat2 0 Posted April 28, 2002 I love the boy's beautiful face + the soft grow + a bit of looking-down angle. Added soft filter helped isolate the boy from the busy background; but still I think the background is distracting. You should try erasing the background all together for a clean and just off-white background like it was taken in the studio + crop in just a bit for better space. Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted June 16, 2004 Very nice portrait, Dave. Excellent expression, colors, lighting and DOF. Link to comment
