Elvis (The King) at a performance appears to be presenting this

passerby in this juxtaposition taken recently on the street. Your

ratings and critiques are invited and most welcome. If you rate

harshly or very critically, please submit a helpful and constructive

comment; please share your superior photographic knowledge to help

improve my photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

I really like this one! The bloke looks like he's about to crack a smile as he's seeing what you are seeing.

Thank you for the comment; without comments from viewers, I wouldn't really have much to shoot for - feedback is valuable for photos such as this.

I tried many juxtapositions with guy, with his face mostly turned to one side, not realizing he was in my 'objectif', but of course, when he turned like this, it was all over, and I walked away.

It almost looks like Elvis should be saying 'Thank you, thank you, thank you very much, and now I'd like to present . . . Boris', doesn't it?

;~)

A picture with compelling contrasts. I see elements of young vs old, fame vs anonymity, capitalism vs communism, fantasy vs reality, etc. Both subjects are looking directly at you. The real one's expression is more engaging because you don't know whether he will smile back or just turn away.

I saw this photo as 'the King' presenting this stranger to an audience . . . in my feeble mind.

You saw so many contraditions or comparisons -- your mind must be much less feeeble than mine.

And you are right in a way. You have a rich mind, and that makes for good photo interpretation.

In any case, I saw the Elvis photo, and the guy was in front with his back turned; I took a variety of photos as this guy turned his face left and right, but this was the best of the bunch, in part because (to me), it appears to tell a story.

These 'background' shots seem to be one way of taking a 'portrait' that is more complex than the average portrait. I never would have taken a photo and posted it of this guy at all, but with an interesting (and seemingly interactive) background, it's maybe worthy of posting.

I have done better (but then again, I've posted far worse.)

Thanks for the interesting photo interpretation; I may adopt it as my own (giving credit of course).

;~)

Your comment caught me by surprise; as the resident expert on color, I understand why this appeals to you.

I had hoped for better, but this was good enough to show.

I have a subcategory of these shots -- it's my own joke on myself -- these things are pretty easy for me to see and to put out, and I took yesterday one that was really beautiful and complex that will be posted within the week. It was amazing/I keep looking at it on my camera; it hasn't been downloaded yet.

Watch these spaces; that one was much more complicated, and I'm proud of it.

Nice to see you coming around.
