Converted to B&W then duo tone and some burning in of some areas and

not others, after an imprestionistic dramatic feel. Does it work for

you?

Very dramatic! My taste has always run toward high contrast low grain images, but this is still really cool.

A very nice image! But there does appear to be some blocking up or granularity in dark portions of the clouds. This could be a JPEG artifact or the image breaking up do to excessive 8 bit channel processing in Photoshop. Reworking it in 16 bit channels mode would solve this problem and improve the tonality in these areas.

Very nice shot from Dennis, especially when shot from a boat. I like the differing density of the Islands, as they fade into the distance and the bold lighting in the sky. The rock in the middle is a nice rugged symbol of this island filled area.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I am turning more and more to high grain images like this one and "Rock and Wave".Miles, thanks for the tip on working some of it in 16 bit. I like grain for many of these duotone images but not so much that it falls apart into so much digital noise when one prints one up.

Hmmm...I thought Atomic Bomb or Volcano when I saw this. I like the contrasts and the play of textures. Disturbing and frightening though. Dark and haunted. The black mat works generally but I don't like the sharp line it generates, especially on the left side.

Very impressive lighting/composition! That is not 'grain' from JPG compression, it's from the film, and in this case it works very much in its favour.

With a better scan and cleaner - less blown out highlights (and taking out the kind of dust one of the clouds, this could be A 10 / 0 9 to me. Real top POW standard for me... Please rescan this... It's really wonderful. Regards.
