Giant Sequoia, Infrared Duotone

Comments, suggestions, ratings appreciated on this giant sequoia.

Tried to capture the immensity of the tree. Shot this in really

bright sun, with sunlight also reflecting off snow. I thought the

infrared would help set the tree off from the sky. Cropped it very

tight. Wish there would have been some clouds!

Good detail and excellent contrasts. I think I like the clean sky. It looks as if the tree is reaching up into space. Clouds would have detracted from the majesty of the tree itself. I can't immediately think of what I would have done differently.

I love the look of infrared film. I've never tried it, but photos like this make me want to give it a go. This is a very interesting photo. Compositionally, I think it might have been a little stronger if you hadn't cropped out the edges of those branches along the left side and top. Then again, this is a sequoia tree and you might not have had that option.

Interesting and powerful.

This is an excellent photo. I love the amount of detail you're getting in the leaves. I envy you, though, since you don't have to deal with the hassles of handling infrared film (and then get relatively grainy pics!).
