I thought it was interesting the way the dirt appears as brush strokes

of a painting. There has been very little processing on this image.

Beautiful landscape,David. I like the composition, exposure,DOF and color-contrast.I prefer the alternative caption,'A checkerboard landscape'.

Very kind of you. I debated posting this one, because it is a bit boring. But I really liked the earth tones on the mine, so went with it. I also gave some thought to cropping it into a more panoramic mode and eliminating a large part of the greenery. Thanks again for your kind words.

Colors and clarity are super nice David...I would not crop one bit because the front earth road and part of road provide a foreground that helps create some depth and situate the PoV...but then it's my personal view and more and more I think less is more and following the original intuition that you had in the viewfinder is often the best thing to do....of course not always, this just to add confusion...:-)...

Dave, Good shot! When I viewed it larger, the fine details and patterns really jumped out at me. Regards, Joe

Laurent & Joe, I thank you both. This is not a very spectacular image, but I thought it was an interesting landscape.
