bosshogg 4 Posted December 3, 2007 Thanks. Yeah, I guess the alternative title could have been, "The Beauty & The Beast." Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted December 3, 2007 The fallen "Exit" sign beneath and behind the graffito adds another layer of poignant irony to this image. Nice! Regards, Joe Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted December 3, 2007 Statutory Warning:Beauty is outside and the beast is inside, with no exit:-)I like how you have captured the reflection of the colorful trees on the glass-pane,displaying that ominous sign. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted December 3, 2007 Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated. I, too, found the "EXIT" sign an added bonus. This building had been built less than twenty years ago, yet it is abandoned and probably will be useless if someone does not do something with it soon. Sad waste. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted December 3, 2007 A nice addition to your decaying house and grafiti collection, Jack mentionned it on another picture but I also have the feeling it forms a whole corpus of work that would be nice to present as a serie (here, book, exhibition)....left me wonder what this "Bone" means....I enjoy the reflection that gives an hint of where this building stands.... bosshogg 4 Posted December 4, 2007 Thanks again for your visit and comments. I, too, have no idea what the symbolism of the bone is supposed to be. I take a pretty dim view of all graffiti. To me it is mostly the territorial markings of feral humans. Having that view, I sometimes chastise myself for portraying it. My justification is that I am chronicling our times and graffiti is clearly a part of our time. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 5, 2007 David, this is a real bizarre juxtaposition.. A "hanging" bone near the Forest.... Closed door no enterance, there is an exit to the forest I think...,? some reflections..... A real fun shot with a past.... Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted December 11, 2007 Yes, it is a strange land I visited. Thanks for coming over and looking with me. Link to comment
