jan_piller 0 Posted December 3, 2007 This is beautiful! This reminds me of my favorite place! Algonquin Park! What a gorgeous composition! And the colours are so rich and deep. Nicely done! Link to comment

iancoxleigh 0 Posted December 11, 2007 I too like this Micki. The shape of the colour patches and the overall tone reminds me of a type of art that used to quite common (seemingly anyways) and you can still find in some antique/collectible stores. These are carved wood paintings -- where the scene was first carved/gouged out and then the scene painted or outlined as well. Sometimes they aren't painted. Maybe these are particularly Canadiana and don't exist elsewhere? You see them more when traveling through Quebec. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted December 11, 2007 We used to make these things out of leather and I was doing just that. I was trying for this technique with this picture. It hopefully will look really cool printed and then glued on a piece of wood. That was what I was thinking of doing. hmmm :) Link to comment
