hanna_cowpe 0 Posted December 2, 2007 Peter, it's nice to see you reappear in such a stylish fashion and on the front page. I'm a great fan of abandoned buildings but unfortunately in our area they seem to pull everything down. I like your use of the wide angle. The horizontal boards, the branches on the tree and the streaks in the clouds all meet in a vanishing point on the horizon and create a strong pull away from the viewer. The placement of the yellow flowers are a nice introduction to the scene. I'm surprized you got such warm tones on the house under that dark sky, but it's a very attractive colour. I hope you're back with us for a while. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted December 2, 2007 G'day Mike and Hanna, thanks for stopping by!As mentioned, I am a big fan of this type of subject material and am quite pleased with this particular find...This one was captured with a Canon 5D and the EF 17-40mm lens, at the widest angle. Link to comment
derisphotonetgallery 0 Posted December 3, 2007 I love the details and the dynamic range in this photo!! Really well done. Good find on this great old house. I like to look at old houses and old cars/trucks as sculptures from our past. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted December 5, 2007 Interesting Peter, to meet you here again... Very nice image of past glory. The sky looks like a B/W vs. the colorful green/brown earth and construction. Dramatic silence. Link to comment
james_robinson10 0 Posted January 8, 2008 The skyline goes perfectly with the building. Great interpretation. Link to comment
