marcadamus 1 Posted December 1, 2007 This photograph was made near my campsite in the wild great basin lands of Nevada. I had no preconcieved notion that I would make a photograph here. It simply came to me as I embraced the experience of being with the land one very cold November morning. I believe it describes the place very well. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted December 1, 2007 You're right, the photo tells a story. This is a barren and lonely place, and the fact that you were there, in the cold, in the early morning, is a story in itself! I like the tones and the clarity. The moon is a nice addition to the composition. Link to comment
wildforlight 0 Posted December 1, 2007 Nice image Marc, just outside my new homeland. It is more subtle than I have come to expect from you, but beautiful nonetheless. Hope your SW trip was wonderful. Mark Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted December 1, 2007 I've been extremely busy since returning, Mark. Thanks. It was a great trip. Lots more images to come. Some subtle, others not. Good luck with the move and your new endeavors. I'll get in touch soon. Link to comment
thomasmckown 0 Posted December 4, 2007 I love the peaceful colors in the sky against the lonely brown landscape. Works very well! Link to comment
free2run 0 Posted December 4, 2007 Very quiet and subtle scene. I like the way how you manage the light to just show enough details of the foreground. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 17, 2008 You're right. This image does describe the Great Basin very well... very subtle, hidden, mysterious. Nevada and its Great Basin are my inspirations and my base of subject matter for my work. Nice to see someone else who gave it the time of day. However, I did have a question... "I had no preconcieved notion that I would make a photograph here." Marc, why is that? I'm a native Nevadan and seeing pictures of our state is rare. Nobody cares about Nevada and everyone heads right through it to get to somewhere else. Just curious as to why you decided to take this picture. Keep up the great work! Link to comment
