Hanging over the wall of the ancient Verona Arena at sunset, looking

down on the Piazza Bra in the old Roman section of town. This image

is much more interesting if you click the 'Larger' link. Thanks for

looking, and for comments.

Wow, you're sure right about viewing it larger! I liked it already, but large really brings out more. I love the composition, the curve, and the colors. And I love watching what you get with your 18-200. I took mine out, on the D300, for the first big fling of shooting today. In four hours I travelled all of 16 miles and took 160 shots. Then I got something on, apparently, the sensor (dang!)...maybe it was the lens changes in 40 mph winds...and when the hurricane blower didn't solve it I came home early. Still have to look into that and do my first upload into Nikon software of today's images. Your 18-200 shots have excited me about the prospects. Your Italy pictures have made me want to get old and retire and spend half my time travelling.

I saw this when you put it up on the thread about the 18-200 VR. I love this photo! The colors and composition are grand! I noticed in your portfolio that you use the 70-200 f 2.8 VR quite a bit and the results are very nice. I am very impressed with your work and value your equipment and artistic advice. So, I'll keep looking now and then and putting some new lenses on my wish list.

A fantastic capture Matt - great colours, wonderful composition (I wish the horse and carriage were not on the very edge of the frame but that aside, top marks).

Beautiful colors and composition. I wish I had some particular insight to share into this technically, but I simply fell in love when I looked at it. I very much want to stroll these streets now.

Really nice composition and that combines with the beautiful color.

Nice work. I can't conceive of anything anyone could do to make it better than it is.
