le-plume 0 Posted December 1, 2007 The Saint-Lazare enclosure used to be a convent, then a women prison, then a hospital... It is now being revamped into a preschool centerand a library. That's progress.still those building are pretty grim, especially on a rainy day inNovember. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted December 1, 2007 At least the books would not mind, but the poor children. If you wanted to show a depressive view of progress you succeeded. It will also rain tomorrow and with strong wind ! I would recommend to go back a day with the right light. These typical Parisian buildings from the early 19th century with the white stone gives opportunities for interesting scenes and compositions. The brick-wall in front of us here should be demolished before the small children arrive. Link to comment
le-plume 0 Posted December 1, 2007 Actually, I think this wall will be torn down when the renovation is over: there is now a primary scool next door, to the right of where I stood, and you don't want the kids to wander around while construction is being done...What I tried to convey with this picture is a feel of what these buildings used to be. I'll go back in the Spring to show what they will become! Link to comment
