Ashes to Ashes

Spotted near the Saint-Lazare train station in Paris. Since I wasriding a scooter that day, I had a motorcycle helmet on my head whiletaking this picture.

An old lady that had stoppped walking so that I could take thepicture asked me, with a worried look: "Is that your bike?" I thankedher and reassured her that it wasn't - no need to point out that Iwouldn't have worn a helmet if my bike had been in that state...

It socked me this impressive picture when I show it first time in the “No Words” forum.

It made me think about how many persons buy a nice thing and then let it deteriorate. Never gift a pet to such a people.

 

Actually, I don't think the owner had much to do with this: the charred foliage behind the railing and the marks on the ground made it clear that this scooter had been set on fire, not much more that a day or two before! Hope he had good insurance...
