Grab shot taken while visiting my Grandsons. Your critiques will be

gratefully received. Some shots have to be taken simply for the fun

of it. Best, LM.

It is winter now here, and aside from a bit of rain, the sun is glowing....you brought the real winter to me , and with a smile! thanks for that .The bare trees is a nice addition to the atmospher of the season, and the red nose a point of fun... ;-))

great one

we should get together for a coffee before Christmas, let me know when I might come down to the wilds of Barrie for it.

Pnina, You are making me envious. :-) "...trees..." ? Those are his arms & hands! The nose is an oversaturated carrot. Best, LM.

Nice snowman Len! I must have moved about a ton of that white heavy stuff from my sidewalk this past Sunday. Nice grab for sure! - Sean

Sean, I'm about 300 mi. due east of you and so my back & my shovel are well aquainted with snow (comes off Georgian Bay). Similarly, what I didn't previously know about snow I'm finding out today & yesterday wirh my driveway requiring clearing a couple of times a day. If you run short I could courier a truckload to you. :-) Thanks for your views on my masterpiece. Best, LM.

Ah, just go ahead and admit that it's a self-portrait, Len. Just think: in two weeks winter will start.

Not a bad snowman. Seems to be looking forward to January and February.

Landrum, Long time no see. Thanks for changing that. 'Self Portrait' ? Well, I have to admit there ARE similarities. I don't wear hats either. Officially, winter does indeed start in a couple of weeks but unofficially I've had enough already. No snowman you make for your 4 yr. old grandson is bad, some are just better than others. :-) If he was looking forward to Jan. & Feb. he's disappointed. He melted 2 days later. I'll kick the season off with you, "Merry Christmas". Best, LM.

Hi Len,

That's a great iconic shot! Are you sure you didn't shoot that self portrait while we were out on that -20C hike a couple of years ago? ;^) That's what I felt like that day, anyway!

All the best, Greg

Greg, Well, it's great to hear from you again! I guess I can withdraw the APB I requested the PN cops to put out on you. Thought you'd gone off to one of those other sites; you know, the ones that make you feel cared for, warm & fuzzy all over for a while & then cast you aside like an old rubber boot? Me? I've given up photography, for painting............at least until the bathroom is done. Snowman a look-alike? All it needs is a hat & a small dark comb or brush under his nose & it could be you. :-) And if memory serves me, the temperature that cold Jan. day was -27F., not -20C, big difference. My finger tips still start to turn white the minute the temp. drops below freezing & my Bronica refuses to function. Thanks for taking the time & let's see some more jewels from your trip last summer. Best, LM.

Merry Christmas, Len. Glad you got to play in the snow...we've had snow once, on a Saturday morning and then by the afternoon it turned to rain :( The kids were not pleased. Hasn't snowed again since. Looks like a gray Christmas for us unless Santa brings some with him this year! Even so, we plan to have a very Merry Christmas and hope that yours is just as merry!

Leslie, Thanks for happening by. This snow, in spite of 5 days of rain, is still hanging around though the snowman is now toast. Captured for eternity on PN though! Best, LM.
