shots worth sharing 1 Posted December 2, 2007 Sonia, This is very nice! I can't recall ever seeing a photo of an owl in flight here at pnet. On a technical level, it my nor be as polished as some of those by the master bird photographers but it's certainly a shot to be proud of! Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted December 2, 2007 Thank-you very much, Dave. I have seen some fabulous photos of owls here on p.net. I know that mine is far from perfect but I am proud of it and I hope to have oppertunity to improve the shot. Thank-you very much for your comment. Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted December 5, 2007 I know this is not perfect but I'm looking to improve. Please let me know what you think. Thank you. Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted December 5, 2007 I don't recall an owl-in-flight image either - impressive, great timing. Link to comment
curtis_richter 0 Posted December 5, 2007 Well done...very expressive and it captures the intensity of the raptor's eyes. Link to comment
alvaro 0 Posted December 9, 2007 The eyes are sharp, the moment is great, the wings are slightly blurred providing action to the shot, the background looks like a wild environment and the winner for me: The sky is perfectly exposed too ... I think is an ace. Link to comment
samrat 1 Posted January 28, 2008 You say this is not perfect...I think this is a very good photograph. You have captured a bird in flight. The eyes are clear and express a sense of purpose. There is a smoothness in the photo...a certain amount of grace. Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted January 28, 2008 Thank you Dale, Curtis, Alvaro and Samrat. I am very encouraged by all your kind comments. I will have to learn to not be so hard on my photos but still work on improving. Thanks again. Link to comment

knobby6 1 Posted April 19, 2008 Although, its not that sharp, you got the whole bird and its a good angle. I'm still working on these 'owl in flight shots.' First you have to find them, then u have to shoot them and thats if there is light. Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted May 21, 2008 Hi Sonia, this is pretty darn good, what camera and lens did you use? Link to comment
soniam 6 Posted May 21, 2008 Thank you Jim, Monte, and Jim. I didn't realize I hadn't specified. It was my Rebel XTI with 17 - 85 lens. I'm glad you like it. thanks for viewing. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 28, 2008 Nice capture! A little blurry, but the face is fairly sharp, which is the important thing. Good color and lighting. Link to comment
andre_mcnichols 0 Posted June 12, 2008 I'm with Alvaro here, the blur on the wingtips only adds movement to the shot. The one thing I don't like about this image is the branch behind the bird but then it's not easy to avoid those in bird photography, I'd be surprised if the model was willing to reshoot.
