Kaushik,

Thanks for stopping by my portfolio!

You ask for feedback on your site here, so here goes.

First, I LOVE the general treatment of your subjects. Very interesting and dynamic expressions and poses, this one being a good example, and you have created very rich tones as well.

The one thing I would change here is that it looks like you've photoshopped around his head a bit too much, or too casually. The white glow in the background behind his left side (our right as we look at him) draws my eye to that area, rather than to the subject. Looks like that is true underneath his other ear as well.

If you are masking, easy enough to redo it. If this is exactly what you wanted to do then please feel free to ignore me; I'm only telling you that it's a little bit distracting for me.

Outside of that complaint, I find this to be excellent, and I find your portfolio in general to be full of fantastic stuff. Bravo!!!!

Very nice portrait Kaushik. The transition of light from light to dar on his face is great and has a very good zonal range. I also think that the edge outside his right face is a bit too bright and a bit distracting.

Overall a wonderful portrait. Cheers.

I agree with Donn on his remarks, including the one that you can ignore them if this is what you wanted. The portrait is however so very wonderfully there for us to admire. Whether he communicates an eccentric character, I would question.

Kaushik, On my screen, there is a pronounced halo as well. I suppose it's a matter of taste and intention. It does pull the head forward out of the gray background. This is a unique portrait, very expressive.
