There are two ways to reach Massada. One is modern rail. Second is

classic version - old "Snake Path". Thank you for all opinions.

Third way: the Roman Ramp, which the Roman Army had built, using slaves and Jewish slaves, to finally break through the fortress of Masada. But one can only reach this ramp by bus. I know because I was up in Masada late one afternoon, and we walked down the wrong path--the Roman Ramp instead of the Snake Path only to meet a sign--no people--no youth hostel--just lots and lots of empty desert--just a sign telling us the next town was miles and miles away, and it was almost sundown, which is quick in the desert, so we sprinted back up the path to the top of the mountain and spent the night in this fortress, freezing in a 2000-year old bathhouse, in the desert night, waiting for the first signs of tourists to arrive in this giant lift that you photograph filled with tourists waiting to film the rise of the sun over the Dead Sea. --a powerful place you photograph, full of meaning of people refusing to be slaves. Nice shot.
