whydangle 0 Posted November 25, 2007 Pearson's Falls is owned by the Tryon Garden Club. Located near Saluda, NC, it is one of the more recognizable cascades in the region. Thanks for any comments or suggestions!! Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Marc, I love the angle you shot this with and most of all how well you have been able to capture the exposure for the cascades. I don't really understand the logistics for this place, but I feel the foreground log is an obstruction, but mostly I really felt the cascade on the right side could have been left from being chopped off...may be slightly wider angle or moving to right? I was curious if this was a compromise to avoid something like sky, or other obstructing elements. Otherwise this is very beautiful. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Thanks Lalit for your observation. I expected someone would comment on that. No good answers, just laziness I suppose. The need for a wider angle lens is the obvious. I used a 20 mm. Moving to the right would have chopped the lower left and upper left cascades partially. The log you see was actually being moved by the Tryon Garden club. Out of view to the left is a cable attached. This log was once across the middle of the cascades. I also did not shoot enough verticals since I sell mostly horizontals. More patience would have served me well on this day!! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted November 28, 2007 Mark... A beautiful waterfall capture. While the log and the right corner are noticeable while in the photo analyst mode, they are certainly overshadowed by the clarity and capture of the moving water when in my enjoy mode. I know that many backcountry falls have logs, tree limbs, dufus tourist and other obstructions that constantly get in the way. The logs and limbs do fit into the environmental scene and don't bother me at all. Great photo!! Mike Link to comment
