Matt Laur 2,201 Posted November 24, 2007 A clear November night in St. Mark's Square, Venice. An ultra-wide lens is the only way to capture this unusual space. Thanks for looking and for comments. Link to comment

lizweisiger 0 Posted November 30, 2007 Matt, this is a beautiful shot. I love the composition and the effects of the slow shutter. Nice job. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 23, 2008 Matt, In the fall of 1981, at a table under the canopy on the right, I enjoyed a couple of beers with my PA and Oral Surgeon from the USS Nimitz the night that Anwar Sadat was assasinated. The next day I was in Egypt awaiting his funeral. This is a beautiful image and immediately placed me back in the scene. Venice was enchanting with so many great photo ops. Nice work and thanks for the memories! Regards, Dick Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted January 23, 2008 Thanks, Richard! Here's another shot from just minutes later, taken from underneath that very canopy. A string quartet was playing waltzes for the coffee drinkers. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted January 23, 2008 That's the place...I have a whole set of slides taken with my Canon A1 from that trip. Makes me want to pull them out for another look. Thanks Matt! Dick Link to comment
