stephen.schwartz 0 Posted November 23, 2007 I spent a fair while watching these bears. Unfortunately they were far away and I was forced to use the 600mm + a 1.4 TC. The light was flat and it was raining lightly. Worse yet, the bears spent most of the time with their rear ends toward me or their heads down eating salmon. I finally resorted to making a grunt (remember - I said they were a long way off) and they lifted their heads and looked around. This views better in "larger" Link to comment

matman1975 0 Posted November 23, 2007 Hello Stephen, I always respect photos of wild animals in their natural settings, much much much more than these taken under controlled situations (Zoo, ect) and your image is the perfect example. Your patience is surely rewarded with this beautiful and difficult image of this bear family.I've seen several times here on photonet stunning images of captive animals (which are ofcourse rated with 6,7) but for me they can't provide even a fraction of the emotion of a trully wild animal photo so I don't usually comment on them.I remember in the past a Leopard in Serengeti N.P. which made me stay alert for almost 4 hours trying to take a decent photo!!! cause see didn't make me the favour of looking at the direction of my lens even for a single second!Well done, excellent effort.Greetings from Greece Link to comment
