david hemmings 0 Posted November 26, 2007 This image was cropped a bit for presentation to emphasize the talons. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 26, 2007 I think this is what they called the money shot. Incredible image, superb focus. In any portfolio this would be someone's best. 7/7 Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Wow! The power contained within the frozen action is so visceral. The intensity of the stare is also remarkable. But, you are right, the crop does draw your eye straight to those terrifying and oddly beautiful talons! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted November 26, 2007 Perfect form and concentration! Oh, I'm talking about the owl, but you did an excellent job also! :-) Absolutely beautiful! Link to comment
bernie moore 6 Posted November 26, 2007 David, Stunning shot, as are so many in your portfolio. I had to look at your portrait for a long time to assemble the parts in my mind. The extent to which you are willing to freeze your butt off is a measure of your success. That and an extraordinary talent. Regards, Bernie. Link to comment

Not Here 93 Posted January 10, 2008 I'm so glad someone brought this thread back around again. This remains one of my favorite images in all of PN! Normally I would like at least a thin border of some type, but in this case the white just fades into my screen and appears to give the owl even more room to attack. Fantastic, every time I see it!! amir_ayalon 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Amazing shot! focus is perfect, image is so sharp and beautiful, and to catch the bird in such a position from such close range is amazing. Link to comment
eliza_leahy 0 Posted September 10, 2008 I just amazes me how you get photos on these sorts of angles, it makes me wonder where you were standing to take the shot! Incredible detailed close up! Snow fascinates me, because I have never seen it (looks cold!) I'm an artist from Australia and I was wondering if you would allow me to use this photo as a reference for my scratchboard work - giving you proper credit as the photographer, of course. You can see my work at www.elizasart.com I would love to do this on whiteboard, painting it in first then scratching back. Hoping to hear from you soon! Eliza Leahy www.elizasart.com Link to comment
