LenMarriott 9 Posted November 18, 2007 Most guys don't do 'shopping' very well. I am among them. Spotted in the food court, Prime Outlet Mall, Grove City, PA. while killing time as my spouse & sister-in-law beat up on the stores. The colours intrigued me and the diagonal composition was intentional - to add a dynamic element. Your views\comments will be gratefully received. Best, LM. Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted November 27, 2007 I like the simplicity of this shot and happy that you chose the diagonal aspect. By going diagonal, you get triangular shapes which is recognizable and appealing. I also like the choice of the green inner border that compliments the green lines of the sign. On the flip side, and even in my own my images I am mildly distracted by large 'empty spaces which this one has. One could argue that anything but a dark background would distract one from the main subject which is the sign. All of this is really artistic considerations so it can be easily discarded. That is my two cents on a dull, dank and damp evening. Regards, Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted November 27, 2007 Tony, Thanks for your insights. They shed light on the image from anothers eyes. Never a bad scenario. The green for the border is drawn from the image itself and could be replaced in seconds in PS if one wished but I agree with your assessement that it compliments the image. As for the dark spaces, I think in this case they are the only option as I didn't (don't) want anything else to compete with the subject, the neon sign. Call it artistic license (& I think you just did). Others' views are how we grow & yours is certainly appreciated. Don't be a stranger. Best, LM. Link to comment
