Pink Orange Black

My girlfriend's Christmas cactus has started its annual blooming.

This is the first flower this season. I shot this with a 100mm macro

lens in natural light and used a piece of construction paper for a

background. Your comments?

Beautiful image and the background works nicely. My only personal preference is to have left a little more room above the small petal in the upper left. But this is still very fine image. What lighting was used? Are you happy with the 100mm macro? I'm planning on buying one soon.

I like the 100mm f2.8 Canon macro lens a lot. Sharp, good color. A good investment. My "corn" shots were taken with it. I used natural light on this shot. The dark area behind the stamens is the shadow of the flower. I had a piece of orange paper behind the flower, like 2-3" away.
