Took this picture at one of our
makro-photography-courses

Cause we had the location (tropical-butterfly-house) the whole day just for our course, there was some time for the instructors to take some pictures themselves.

Quality could be better but, instead of a real macro-lens, i used a cheap 70-300 with macro-function, to test it.It works as u can see. Not that sharp a areal macro but its a nice cheap posibility instead of a real macro.

The Butterfly did hang "upside down" under the leaves, i just turned the taken picture cause i liked its that way.

To understand the Titel....just think about it a while....

The old veteran, looking back at his last day, he experianced a lot in his life as u can see, just look at his wings,...tomorow the season of the tropical butterfly garden ends, they`ll just turn of the heaters, and it will be his last day, it was a good day, the taken picture will remember him...and he take a last look backwards... at his last day.

Well done Andreas. I like the pale green in the background which compliments the green in the leaves very well. The empty space at the left works to advantage in this shot. The whole image has a delicate, graceful feeling to it.

I can understand you being disgusted with PN. I've slowed greatly on my uploads over the past year. Members voice their opinion of certain things & no one listens. The rating system completely sucks. I suppose we could go for critique only & let the anonymous rating bullshit fall by the wayside

the ratingsystem sucks, it was much better before they "invented" the anonymous rating

and before people started to rate their buddy-pictures high, and the good ones low
it was more honestly before, it was more real before...but what can we do?

u may remember my statements under my last picture,.... its more than one year ago that i did upload the last picture, in that time ive been here very few times and didnt miss it much, but i do miss photo.net as it was before

and i miss to comunicate with people here, its the only place i know where i find international photographers....
anyway, looks like i am back...at least for a while...ill give it another try

about the picture:
the green background isnt real, ;-) it was white, but i turned it into green because i liked it more this way...and so i also added the empty space, wich i did need to let him "look back"

Regarding PN: Amen. I agree completely.

I also agree with the butterfly having space to look back. It wouldn't work as well with a tight crop. Good choice of the green in back
