jcpopper 0 Posted November 17, 2007 A near perfect capture of the energy expressed in fine dance. It extends beyond their bodies, and, somehow, you've found way to photograph it in a manner that's never static. Regards... Link to comment

gordonjb 10,860 Posted November 17, 2007 The position of the hands and the dancers makes for a strong shape. The intensity of the expression on the taller women's face is what I like the most about this photo. An unusual and interesting choice of crop. I would have thought that more space to the left would have been the standard approach and I am still uncertain of whether I feel the empty space on the right would have been better utilized if it were on the left side of the frame. pnfphotography 0 Posted November 17, 2007 great shapes and mood I am shooting some dancers now and it really is amazing to see the different moods conveyed by body motion in dance. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted November 17, 2007 Wonderful expressions. The way the lower hands are opened convey sincerity and welcome. The upper hands express intensity and allure. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted November 17, 2007 Thanks to all your interseting impression. Gord, you really have raised a good point, but as it is a friction of the second, it is sometimes hard to be very accurate, But! you have a POINT!( eagle eye I have said....? ) so my solution is to make it a square, that will change the composition just a bit, what do you think? and if others will see it, it will be interesting to compare. I will change the opper one and put it here to compare . Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted November 17, 2007 Working from your current cropped image it does not seem to fit a square format. Now perhaps your original image would be different to work with. This one does seem to look good at 4 to 5 . You do much more work than I do with people in motion but even with my limited experience I do very much understand what you are saying about working in the moment. The looks and positions in these images must be so fleeting and you have such a talent for pushing that shutter at the correct moment to capture the essence of the dance. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted November 17, 2007 I think we both came up with the same crop :) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted November 17, 2007 Thanks, it really looks that 4x5 is the answer,... Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted November 18, 2007 Very good capture,Pninna. One needs a very quick reflex to capture these fleeting moments. Link to comment
j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted November 18, 2007 Such inner liveliness and longing is needed to give dance a soul. It is the active, introspective process that gives content to act of dancing together. One can only make contact if an appearance shows a deeper emotional substance. Being drawn to each other, relates to a metaphysical reality: being drawn out of ourselves toward the other, goes beyond the physical act of coming closer... Shalom dear Pnina. :0)) Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted November 18, 2007 A very expressive image, Pnina. Their faces and bodies are excellent, but I think an image cropped down to just the hands could be amazing. Well done! Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted November 18, 2007 I agree with Gordon on the framing, but the general scene is very well captured. The different messages given by the two pair of hands is interesting (complementory/contradictory)). The lower pair, offering peace by showing her empty hands (no arms!) and the upper pair much more demanding. I like the blue and red tissues around the waist of the two creating a contrast to the naked arms and hands. All very interesting and a real play between you, as a photographer, and the dancers.
